AVALON Airport’s international expansion will receive a $20 million funding boost in Tuesday’s Federal Budget, Corangamite federal Liberal MP Sarah Henderson has revealed.
The funding will be used to help build an international terminal at the airport to initially house low-cost carrier AirAsia, following a February announcement that it would pull all services from Tullamarine in favour of the Geelong airport.

A lovel old Liardet painting shows Geelong from Western Beach back when Aborigines camped along The Esplanade. It dates to the 1840s and the tribesfolk seem a bit bemused by the changes to their bayside.
There have been lots of changes since, of course. A good few more are happening now as investors plunge into the thick of all things inner-west. it's a nice old part of the world among the bayside peppercorns and palms, so it's not surpring people are cottoning on.

Geelong's median house price could hit $600,000 in three years as first-home buyers and ivestors fight for stock, a financial expert predicts.
Allen Wargent Property Advisory co-founder Pete Wargent said increased demand for property created by the first homeowners' grant could push median prices up by $170,000 to around $600,000 by 2020, rivalling Melbourne's median sales price today.
